Bali is nowadays well known, and is also called “the island of the Gods”.  Indonesia has more than 17.000 islands and Bali is the only one where the habitants practice Hinduism. The Balinese Hinduism is a bit different than the Hinduism from la India and that’s one of the main reason why Bali and their people are so special, vibrant and unique.

Floating Leaf Eco-Luxury Retreat is set in a small traditional Balinese village amongst verdant rice fields. The secluded location nestled between Sukawati and Pantai Purnama on the eastern shore of Bali puts it far from the traffic, pollution and the crowds of tourists found in Ubud and southern Bali, but we are still conveniently located close to the beach, airport and other key Bali landmarks.

You will enjoy living in Sukawati, as it is a peaceful oasis where our guests are able to fully relax and focus on the moment – whether that consists of a deep yoga practice, a serene spa treatment or just enjoying time with friends and family by the Healing Pool.

Bali offers something for all types of travelers and visitors.

Although Floating Leaf offers true eco luxury with a decadent pool, a world-class spa, tropical drinks and fantastic food, it’s important to know there is so much more to the Floating Leaf experience. They certainly encourage you to relax, unwind and enjoy the pool and spa, but they also want to provide a profound and life enhancing experience as well.

Floating Leaf was created specifically for those individuals open to making positive self-transformations. If that’s you, you’re in the right place.

Raquel is a nature lover and world traveller. She started contemporary
dance at an early age and later in her life she realised how powerful and influencing Yoga can be on people’s existence.

After important life events, Raquel decided to break with the past and start a new experience
in South Asia, where she has been travelling, working and deepening her Yoga practice over the past 3 years.

In 2014, in Bali, she became a certified yoga instructor with the talented dancer and yoga
teacher Jolie Manza and she also discovered Acroyoga with Carlos Romero & Janice Aragones. A new world of trust, care and fun
was open to her. She believes that Acroyoga is a powerful tool to enhance self-confidence, rediscover the community feeling
and find new aspects of ourselves.

In 2016, she decided to open her yoga practice to the aerial world and she joined the
Fly High Yoga Teacher training. A challenging and fun type of practice that allows everybody to enjoy inversions and standing
balance poses even without any experience.

Yoga and its philosophy have totally changed Raquel’s approach to life by empowering her to
be happier, trust herself and share her infinite joy. Raquel’s classes will challenge you, transmit her passion and
conquer your hearts!

Allan is the he-recipes developer, contents creator and brand builder behind The Vegan Option.

When he is not busy with innovation and business, he is always looking for new recipes and new ways to create tasty dishes with a healthy twist. Growing up in an Afro-Italian family, Allan has always been surrounded by great food and learnt from great chefs (la Mamma and la Zia know best!)

Being also very passionate about keeping fit, he knows how essential the right food is for improving energy levels and shorten recovery periods. Since starting this journey, the difference in training and results has been incredible and keeps motivating him to create the best plant-based meals with an optimal combo of nutrients.

He is always looking for new inspiring plant-based products to add to his recipes and demonstrate how healthy food can still taste ridiculously delicious even without including animal products.

One of his favourite quotes?

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”– Hippocrates

Claudia is the she-recipes developer, contents creator, food stylist and photographer behind The.Vegan.Option. When she is not travelling or running around with her camera, you can find her all over London, riding her bike from clinics to patients.

In fact, Claudia is also a passionate Physiotherapist, Pilates Instructor and Health & Nutrition Researcher. She graduated in Italy in 2006 with a BSc (Honours) in Physiotherapy and continued her studies in Belgium. After being awarded with a first class Master in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2008, she developed her professional career in top private clinics across London. Her huge interest in human movements and performance brought Claudia also to qualify as a Clinical Pilates Instructor and create her own method, which she has been passionately teaching in the UK over the past nine years.

Claudia has always had a great interest in sport, healthy and sustainable living and in food that pleases the eye as much as the palate. She always had a thing for helping and motivating people to look after themselves, respect their body and strive for the healthiest mental-physical balance. “After all, we all need to learn to take care of ourselves before being able to do the same with others. And, if we haven’t realised it yet, a lot in life is about caring ”.

When her love for nourishing food, health research and photography blended together things got seriously fun. Advocate of healthy eating and plant-based food since she can remember, Claudia decided to cut down most of the animal proteins from her diet just over two years ago. Although she has never liked to describe herself as a strict vegan, she loves following this lifestyle for several good reasons and inspiring people to eat mindfully, live healthily and celebrate life.

One of her favourite quotes? Easy to guess…

“Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you who you are.” – Jean Brillat-Savarin

Raquel is a lovely blend of chilled and friendly professionalism and her passion for the yoga lifestyle is very evident. She is a great teacher in groups or 1-1, is incredibly patient and helpful for remedial yogis like myself and creates a lovely atmosphere in her classes. I think she is destined to become a “yoga rock star.
I loved Raquel’s warm professionalism while teaching workshops and classes and the retreat venue fitted perfectly with her positive thinking. Raquel is amazing at promoting positive thoughts and creating links with the rest of the participants. Overall has been a great experience!
Raquel has a great knowledge of different yoga techniques and modalities and she managed very well the retreat group. She was active, paying attention to the participants needs and available at any time. She is a great leader equally able to direct, listen carefully and make your reflex about your own questions to find the solutions. I would love to repeat the experience with her!
I have been having one to one Pilates with Claudia at Octopus clinic to deal with a lower back problem and I highly recommend her for her professionalism and care. Claudia has selected Pilates exercises for my needs and I can see the difference from one session to another, as I am becoming stronger!
Claudia is a wonderful physiotherapist who has fixed my long-term shoulder injury and taught me simple exercises on how to strengthen my body to prevent recurring injuries. She also recommended suitable exercise I can do to continue to strengthen the muscles around my shoulder and showed me how to avoid injury when running...I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone who is struggling with back or shoulder pain.
My first session with Claudia was agony but I bravely put myself through the exercises she told me to do. Every day. Religiously. Within a week, I stopped taking the painkillers as I didn't need them anymore. After only five more sessions i was back to my manual job and after two months my shoulder was completely restored, better than it had been for a good two years. Being able to get back to work so quickly meant the world to me…
Claudia is an inspiration. She has motivated me to achieve unexpected goals and transformed my quality of life. Viva Claudia!
